Data Integration Specialist We are seeking talented individuals with moderate to expert Data Integration expertise in SQL 2000 DTS and SQL 2005 SSIS. This individual will work closely with the Database and .NET development teams to support and evolve COMPAS – our custom application software suite. If you have great interpersonal skills, superior command of the English language, demonstrated experience using Microsoft Server Platforms and ability to learn quickly, you just might be the person we’re looking for. Position Description: This position will work closely with our client’s in-house technical staff to determine and define where data required in our application resides and then quickly build an automated system (ETL) that will import that data in the most efficient and effective way into Orbit’s COMPAS application software solution. These tasks will be performed in conjunction with the customer implementations and ongoing support of existing installations. Duties and Responsibilities: • Using ETL tools, analyze, design, construct and automate ETL processes working closely with Database Architect and Systems Business Analysts • Perform data migrations for testing, fixes, upgrades and new implementations • Gather and understand Customer Requirements and data source structures across a variety of business applications • Contribute to design data models, and deliver technical documentation for all data model structures • Implement optimized ETL components to improve Data Integration results • Day to Day Administration of various components of the COMPAS application system • Troubleshooting of database platform, SQL, and related application issues • Implementation and product release support as required for deployment. • Tune SQL Queries & database performance Education and Experience Requirements: • 2-3yrs experience in applying database methodologies and best practices. • 2+yrs experience using SQL 2000 DTS / SQL 2005 SSIS. • Experience with SSRS would be an additional asset. • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience required. • 2+ yrs supporting Microsoft SQL Server databases and applications in an enterprise application environment. • 2+ years of professional business systems development (analysis, design, and programming) experience, preferably in a complex systems environment. • Professional database administration certification (MCDBA) would be considered an asset. • Ability to contribute technological solutions to business challenges and opportunities. • Strong critical thinking, judgment, problem solving and analytical skills. • Superior English language communication skills - verbal, written, listening and presentation. • Ability to work on multiple complex projects/tasks effectively; exposure to applied project management methodologies would definitely be beneficial. • Strong command of Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 platforms. • Sound thinking in technical analysis and troubleshooting situations. • Ability to work well within a team environment in addition to being able to set goals and work independently to achieve objectives.
